Wii

For our anniversary Jeremy and I got each other the Nintendo Wii. Along with the game system we also got some games including Wii sports, Guitar Hero and a couple others. Guitar Hero is a game where you "play" a guitar, drums or sing. Jeremy loves playing this game and I find myself actually pretty good on the drums. The other person in our family named Benjamin thinks he is the king of the instruments and most of the time will not let us play. I even got Ben his own guitar, piano and drums. Ben takes after his uncle Jeff and wants to play the drums ALL the time. Here are some pictures of the future Rock Star.

Pictures

I havent posted any pictures of Ben recently so for those who want to see how big he's getting here ya go. Ben is still saying new words everyday but I'm still a little concerned with his language development. I might get him tested next month to see if there is a delay or anything they can do to help him. When I try I get "NO MAMA" yelled at me no matter how sneaky I am to get him to talk. He loves going outside and thinks he should live in our driveway. From the second he gets up all I hear is "outside please." Which with the rain lately has been hard to get him to understand why he cant go. The terrible 2's are still among us but there for awhile it wasnt that bad so I guess there is hope yet.

Thursdays are NOT my days

Another Thursday has come and with bad luck at that. I came home only to find that I had a slow leak in one of my tires on the Trail Blazer. We are down to one car and now with the flat tire and being too late to do anything I am stranded at home until Jeremy can fix it.

Next thursday I am NOT leaving my house for anything. I can only imagine what else could happen. So if you are counting that would be the third thing to happen to me and everyone says it comes in 3's. Boy are they ever right.

Car went conk--conk

Well if you havent heard by now Benjamin and I got in a car accident last week. We coming home at the shopping center around the corner from our house and got t-boned. Luckily both of us are fine however my poor Cavalier is a different story. Of course this all happened on our wedding anniversary. Yes Jeremy and I have been married 3 years and to celebrate he got stuck at work and we got in a accident. To top things off I got food poisoning the day before and was still recovering. Needless to say the Cook household has NOT had a good few days however I am very very thankful to have my family in tact.

Ben was a trooper and did not even cry once. After it happened of course I stopped the car and flew into the backseat to make sure he was alright. He said he was then started the never ending repeat of what happened. He has now told the story more times then I can count and to tell you the truth I think he's a little thrilled about the whole ordeal. Me on the other hand not so much. When we got home I was shaking and needed a stiff drink. I have provided some pictures of the car however it looks worse in person then on camera. Jeremy tried to drive it to work and could not get it to drive past 45mph.

Animal Sounds

Ben has known that animals make certain sounds since before he could talk. This has not changed only the way he puts everything together. We were driving home yesterday down 28 which is nothing but cow farms. The conversation went like this.....

Mommy: Ben look there are cows.....what do cows say?
Ben: MMMOOOOO. (pause) Cows say mmooooo.
Mommy: That's awesome Ben what do pigs say?
Ben: (an oink like sound). (Pause) Pigs say oink oink (same sound as before).
Mommy: Great!!

We then go through sheep and then ducks. then........

Mommy: Great!! What does birds say?
Ben: Teet Teet. Birds say teet teet. (pause) Where birds go?

Ranch makes everything better

Benjamin is a typical 2 year old that may or may NOT eat a meal. His new found favorite is baby carrots with ranch to dip them in. It's about one of the only ways for me to get him to eat a vegetable. He will eat them if they are mixed in pasta or something but by themselves forget it. Well today at lunch I saw something funny and gross all at once. Along with the carrots/ranch was a Pb sandwich (which again sometimes he eats and others he doesnt) which he saved for last. Ben decided that ranch is good on carrots so why not on his Pb sand? I thought "Oh great he's ruined his sandwich and wont eat." On the contrary.....he loved it and dipped the whole thing in the ranch and cleaned his plate clean.

Moral of the story....when you have a toddler that will gross you out however cleans his plate I will be the first to serve up some ranch to dip a pb sandwich in. GROSS!!!
